March Update:

Our March workshop was a really heartwarming and fulfilling experience.
It was so much fun playing different games with the kids while teaching them simple things like how to follow a leader, encourage one another, and take turns through sports.
Seeing their smiles, hearing their laughter, and watching them stay so engaged while they burned energy outside!
A fun reminder of why we do this work and how important it is to keep supporting the kids at the Healy Murphy Center.
We are also collecting books for the children so they can take one home after each workshop. If you would like to donate or help support this mission of bringing joy to the kids and sharing fun ways for parents to teach and connect with their children, please feel free to reach out.

We believe prevention begins with presence. As Gisele leads Chicktime Southtown San Antonio into this next chapter, we are calling in women who feel stirred to serve. One workshop. One month. One team united in loving children well and strengthening our community from the start.
Exciting Chapter News:

October Update:

September Update:

We are so proud to partner with the San Antonio Imagination Library. While Chicktime primarily works with residential programs caring for victims of abuse/neglect, we felt moved to open a chapter focused solely on prevention. While we recognize most homes are healthy and literacy is powerful in the lives of all people, we also recognize that many victims of abuse/neglect go undetected and books can provide hope! Prevention is the absolute best tool in stoping the cycle of abuse and neglect in our world and while we can’t do everything we can all do something. Arming children with a passion for reading will go a long way in empowering their sense of resiliency and belief they can have hope and overcome! As a survivor of child abuse/neglect I cannot imagine where my life would be without books. It is such a blessing to know there is a simple tool we can use to get FREE BOOKS in the hands of every eligible child and that is what we aim to do in the city of San Antonio through Chickitme SA Southtown! |
Check back often for update and please save the date for Tuesday, August 26 2:30-4:30 pm at the Healy Murpby Center for our first event.
Please contact Lori at 830-708-4254 if you want to volunteer your time with Chicktime Southtown. We also encourage you to sign up to receive our invitations and monthly newsletter by clicking the JOIN A CHAPTER button and selecting TX-SA Southtown from the drop down menu. We need all the help we can get. The chapter is looking for a full leadership team as well!
