January Update:
Our January workshop- It was a small turnout—just two moms and three kids—but the women and children who came had a truly meaningful time creating vision boards together. Sometimes the sweetest moments happen in the smallest gatherings. Chicktime Baltimore has beautiful workshops planned once a month throughout 2026 and remains committed to being His hands and feet at The House of Ruth. We don’t want to just talk about serving—we want to put love into action. If you’ve ever thought about joining us, this is your invitation. The women and children are so grateful, and it’s only a couple of hours once a month. Come for one month, come for three, or come for the whole year—whatever your schedule allows. Our Chicktime volunteers helped the kids and moms create Thankfulness Turkeys and Gratitude Jars—such a heartwarming way to welcome the month of thanks! Special shoutout to Renee for stepping in and helping make the day a success. The smiles said it all!

October Update:
Today was one of those days that fills your heart right up. It was a joy leading our volunteer activity at the shelter — a Halloween-themed pumpkin painting with candy, laughter, and endless creativity.
By the end, all 40 pumpkins were gone and the smiles were bigger than ever
It’s such a simple reminder that joy doesn’t always need to be complicated — sometimes all it takes is paint, sugar, and a room full of happy kids.

This past weekend at House of Ruth, we hosted a “Sip & Paint” with the moms and kids — complete with Capri Suns, snacks, and lots of creativity! 🎨🧃
What I love most about these moments is how something as simple as paint, laughter, and community can create such joy and connection. It’s a reminder that healing and resilience don’t always happen in big ways — sometimes it’s in the small, colorful strokes we share together. 💜

This was the largest workshop attendance yet! (even considering pre-Covid attendance!) At the end of the workshop, Chicktime Columbia Chapter Co- leaders , Rebecca & Terrika , chatted & shared that they both prayed for a good turn out & God definitely answered their prayers!
