Why I serve a leadership role with Chicktime:
Our chapter leader, Jennifer, who I met at church about 15 years ago, shared some information about Chicktime and asked me to be a co-leader. Prior to this, I had never heard of Chicktime. After reading the information, I knew it was something I wanted to do. It also made me feel good to know that Jennifer saw something in me that I didn’t see in myself and trusted me enough to go on this journey with her. I also love the idea of being a positive role model to others, especially children.
My passions and gifts:
My passions and gifts are working with kids, helping others, and being a positive role model.
Hobbies and Interests:
I love playing board and card games (especially Uno and Trivial Pursuit). I travel across Texas with my job so when I’m not working I also love to watch movies (comedies and chick flicks) and the Wizard of Oz. I love Golden Girls reruns, too! I enjoy reading and just being with my family.

Why I serve a leadership role with Chicktime:
The number one reason is that I want to make a difference in the lives of the young women we serve. I truly want to make their world a better place and care passionately about the mission of Chicktime and want to be a champion for the cause.
My passions and gifts:
Being a natural born communicator and having the ability to effectively communicate, I turned my natural gift into a passion and an expertise for training and adult learning. The majority of my career has been spent in some sort of training space. I have thoroughly appreciated being able to assist adult learners accomplish and exceed their career goals. This has also encouraged me to go back to college to pursue/complete my Bachelor’s degree in Communications.
I have continued to utilize and cultivate those skill sets acquired throughout my collegiate career as a platform for my own personal and professional development as well. It is these skills that I feel would make me a value added asset as a co-leader with Chicktime and serve as an inspiration to the young women that we serve.
Hobbies and Interests:
A mantra that I choose to live by is if you cannot give monetarily you can definitely give of your time and service. This is a practice that I wholeheartedly believe in and choose to practice as much as I possibly can. I am extremely interested in volunteering for various non-for-profit organization that supports and shares the same values and belief systems as I. I also appreciate working with kids in all kids, of all ages in all capacities. I enjoy spending time as Mentor to my third grade mentee as Reily School and I am also extremely active with the local Dress for Success Chapter.
In addition to my volunteer efforts, I enjoy spending time with family, friends, as well as exploring and traveling to various regions around the world. I am also extremely active within my church and appreciate retail therapy whenever humanly possible.

Why I serve a Leadership Role with Chicktime:
I was one of those girls who should have ended up in a shelter. Thankfully, I had a loving aunt and uncle who took me in as one of their own. I am currently an empty nester and have the opportunity to help out teen girls who were like me. I’ve only served at a couple of events, but I can tell that the girls love Chicktime. When you witness girls who have endured trauma smiling, laughing, and dancing, you know God has placed you there, and you will reap the rewards of loving on His children and walking alongside them while they evolve into healed women.
My passions and gifts:
I have a passion for mentoring youth to help them navigate challenges and achieve their goals. I have a passion to advocate for at risk youth who are vulnerable and silenced. I have a passion to cultivate a deeper understanding of others’ experiences and emotions, using that understanding to provide support. Lastly, I have a passion for creative expression. Using art, writing, or other forms of creative expression to inspire and uplift others. Another reason why I chose Chicktime, ya’ll choose to Organize fun activities to take them away from internal emotions helping them heal from their trauma in turn helping to break the cycle of neglect and abuse.
Hobbies and Interests:
I sing in choir, and I love it! I sing for Jesus with other fellow believers and we have the best time! I also enjoy going to Barnes & Noble, grabbing a coffee, and sitting down to read a book while enjoying a hot beverage. I like socializing with friends, working out, doing crafts, and volunteering through Chicktime.

Why I serve a leadership role in Chicktime:
Ever since my mom told me about helping kids at The Settlement Home, I knew I wanted to join too—I just had to wait six years until I was old enough and settled into college. I originally started college as a social work major but found it too overwhelming, yet my desire to help others never changed, so joining now feels like the perfect way to support both my mom and the kids while doing something meaningful.
My passion and gifts:
I’ve always felt that my passion is helping others—whether it’s giving people a voice when they need it most or standing up for those who can’t. I’m especially excited to help here, and I’d also love to volunteer at animal shelters in the future. One of my strengths is speaking up for those who might not be heard and putting my energy into making sure they get the support they need.
My hobbies and interests:
My hobbies include reading, playing the sims, starting to work on becoming healthier, playing table top roleplay games with my buddies, listening to music like it’s therapy, swimming, and coloring.
