My name is Michelle Picariello. I am a firm believer of “Everything happens for a reason.” Chicktime crossing my path is an affirmation of this. Once I read the mission statement I knew that this is what I was called upon to do. I have lived enough to know that the two most important things you can give to a person are Love and Hope. Being uncared for or feeling forgotten is a poverty often overlooked. There are too many children out here that are deprived from these vital feelings, and too many children are overlooked. Luckily, I was blessed with an abundance of love in my heart. There is nothing more I wish to do than share it with the children who need it the most. I wish to be able to align myself with others who share the same goals in creating happiness, and bringing hope into seemingly hopeless situations, one child at a time.
Like most, I myself have had to overcome obstacles and been faced with struggles, that I felt would get the best of me. I credit Motivation, inspiration and spiritualism with getting me through. I realized my life would never be easy, and if I did not start believing in myself, and stop allowing others to make me feel inferior or inadequate, then I was doomed for a miserable ride. I changed my view on life. Now, when things fall apart or don’t go as I want them too, I tell myself “Every set back is a set up for a comeback.” I mean after all, who doesn’t love the underdog? I want to share the spirit, inspiration and hope that I have come to learn. Every child has a purpose, a gift, a talent, a power they possess. Without giving them confidence, without inspiring them to keep going, they will never discover their true worth. That is a tragedy, I, in conjunction with Chicktime, will not accept. There are many quotes and sayings I refer to, they help to put me back on track, and keep the faith alive inside me. I live by the notion that you should never look down on someone unless you are helping them up, we were blessed with two hands one for helping others, the other for helping ourselves!
