Yoga Fun!

February Update

God certainly teaches you a lot in your efforts to serve others. At least He does for me. What He has been showing me and what He continues to show me through Chicktime is that showing up for people is really important. It’s not about donating supplies all the time, it’s not about the wow factor of your workshops, it’s about being present. These girls appreciate everything we do for them, but I think the thing that they appreciate most is our presence. We don’t always get it right- not with the girls and not as a volunteer team, but we also don’t quit. We keep showing up flaws and all. That is what is important.

Today we had an incredible workshop hosted by Margo and Kim about self-love. The ladies served a Valentine brunch with everything from dino chicken and waffles, to grits to hash brown casserole. Then we talked about self-love and what it means to each of us. We finished by making self-love Valentine cards to ourselves. We celebrated the birthday one of the girls and two of our volunteers. Thank you to Twisted Treasures for donating the birthday basket for our sweet girl at Elks. It was an incredible day. I am so thankful that this amazing team of women continue to show up, not only for these girls, but for me, and the mission that we have set to make an impact in our community.
