Why I volunteer with Chicktime:
I have felt called to serve nearly my entire life. As a kid my Mom would take me to a local nursing home and I would hang out with the residents there. I became a nurse to heed that same calling to help others. As a mom to three (now adult) children I have always tried to put forth a good, Christian example of caring for my fellow man without limitations.
What are my passions/gifts:
I LOVE children! I have been greatly blessed with many gifts. Empathy, faith, & an open heart as well as being a skilled nurse are done of my God given gifts. I have spent 37 of the last 40 years as a nurse caring for infants, children and their mothers in various settings and currently work as a study nurse to further medicine & medical devices for infants and children. I was always the one who volunteered at school for many different activities for all 3 of my kids’ classes. I also read to the 2nd grade classes at a Boerne grade school – they are so much fun!
What are my hobbies/interests:
Dogs(our, now old rescue, Whiskey in particular) travel, baking, cooking & spending quality time with my family and friends are a few of my favorite things!  I love to see new places and things, especially historical &/or religious that bring me closer to God. Feeding people is also a favorite thing/passion, it brings me so much joy to see someone enjoying something I’ve made for them! Although I seem to get there less often than I’d like, Chicktime is very special to me bringing me to such sweet girls and fellow volunteers.
