Halloween Party!!

September Update
When you’re committed to making a difference, expect to face fierce opposition. The enemy thrives on keeping people trapped in defeat, and when you try to help them rise, to heal, and to find hope, he will do everything in his power to stand in the way. Lately, that resistance has been relentless, and there have been moments where we’ve considered giving up.
But then, there are days like today—days that remind us why we must keep going.
Take today for example: we walked into the group home and found a young girl celebrating her birthday alone, without her family. Yet, in that space, we were able to make her feel seen, valued, and loved—despite her heartache of not being where she dreamed she’d be on her special day.
In an unplanned turn, I had the chance to share my story with the girls. It wasn’t on the schedule, but sometimes God has a different plan than we do. After I spoke, several girls came up to me, sharing their own struggles and telling me how my story gave them hope. To them, we aren’t just women who show up; we are women who love them, who believe in them, and who want to see them thrive—and they are listening. It’s a humbling, awe-inspiring reality.
Afterward, we worked on art projects focused on self-love, using words that affirm who they truly are. Positive, powerful words that they chose for themselves.
And at the end of the day, a young lady approached us, not only eager to know when we’re coming back, but also excitedly offering suggestions for our next workshop. Her ideas were incredible, and we’ll make sure her voice shapes what’s next. That excitement—that anticipation to see us again—shows how much it means to them. These girls have endured so much pain and trauma, yet they know they can count on us to be there, to support them, and to stand in their corner. We can see the difference it’s making in their lives.
So, no matter how hard the enemy tries to knock us down, we will not give up on these girls.
This is what we do at Chicktime. We are a sisterhood, united in service, dedicated to helping these girls break the chains of trauma and dysfunction in their lives—simply by showing up, loving them, and reminding them that they matter.
Today was a powerful reminder of that purpose. What an incredible day.
