Chicktime Easter at Elks Aidmore!

Today was Chicktime Saturday and it was amazing!!
It didn’t go just like we had planned, but it went so much better.
We had an amazing speaker, April Adams, come and share her incredible story
about self love and overcoming so much to get to where she is today.
Because she was brave and shared her story, one of our girls at Elks
wanted to be brave and share hers too.
Just think about that. This young girl realized that these women
from Chicktime are safe and she felt free to share her story.
We do not take that kind of trust for granted.
Nothing could have prepared us for the story we were about to hear.
Abused, trafficked, assaulted, almost killed.
All before she was barely a teenager.
We all circled around this young woman and prayed over her.
It was a beautiful, tender moment.
This is why we do Chicktime.
We want to be there for these girls, speaking truth louder than the lies.
We want to help them find their voice, find healing,
find their purpose, realize their potential.
All the things. We also had Miss Georgia and Miss Georgia Teen come and hang out with us which we were all excited about.
They are such kind and beautiful ladies and we really appreciated them
taking time out of their busy schedules to come and spend time with us.
They reiterated the message of self love
which was perfect for our Galentine’s Day event.
We were supposed to decorate Valentine cookie houses,
but we didn’t get to do that because we were so wrapped up in sharing our stories.
I think that was much better. So we sent the cookie houses with the girls to do later.
We also gave each girl a box of chocolates for Valentine’s Day. Such a beautiful day!
