Cheer and Chants

March Update:

This month’s workshop was all about plants and the ways we grow just like they do.

Carrie Griffin Fraser read three books about the plant life cycle, and the girls talked about how plants need love, sunlight, and good soil to thrive—just like people. Their insights and connections were incredibly thoughtful.

Afterward, the girls got creative decorating

journals with botanical stickers, painting wooden flowers and butterflies, and making their own flower pens. They also learned about the fascinating Venus flytrap, even triggering one to close, and Carrie generously donated two plants for the girls to care for.

We wrapped up the day “à la Venus flytrap,” enjoying our own plants—cucumbers and carrots with ranch and French onion dip, potato chips, and sweet ladyfinger cakes. A day full of learning, creativity, and growth.

We are grateful for every volunteer who shared their sacred time with us; you help love bloom in every girl at Meadowlands!
