Happy Happy Thanksgiving

October Update:

Our October workshop leader this month was Donnette Tyler, who serves on the Chicktime San Antonio Leadership Team and loves volunteering with all the local chapters in our area. What a blessing to have her drive in from San Antonio to lead our workshop !
She rallied up her wonderful village to help make this workshop a success — and what a night it was!
The evening craft of decorating pumpkins was a huge hit! Participants got creative using paint, craft pens, jewels for blinging and even Halloween tissue for some spooky decoupaging fun. Donnette gives a special shout-out to Annette Goodson and Letty Rodela and Chicktime San Antonio for helping her get all the supplies! We left supplies for the youth to continue crating as several didn’t want to stop when it was time to leave!
Dinner was delicious — a Chick-fil-A nugget platter, fruit platter, mac & cheese, and individual chip bags, Capri Sun and water bottles all made possible with the help of Hannah Hedgpeth, Kris Cox, Lesli Rodriguez, and Mari Alexander. And to top it off, we enjoyed a homemade dessert from Janet Irwine! The youth were so excited about the meal and were heard saying we’ve never seen so much food!
The Chicktime New Braunfels leadership team gave each of the youth pumpkin buckets filled with candy and special treats!! Oh what a night!
It’s so important that Chicktime New Braunfels continues to show up for the youth at the Connections Emergency Shelter month after month — to remind them that they have a village that cares. Tonight was a beautiful example of just how powerful community can be.
We hope that love is always felt every time we gather.
We’ll be back at the shelter on the last Monday in November, and we’d love for you to join us and be part of the Chicktime mission!
