Gratitude Journals

October Update:

Our October workshop looked a little different this month! Instead of our usual 3rd Saturday morning gathering, our chapter was invited to help with Boysville’s Children’s Home Friday Night Halloween celebration and fellowship providing food and fun before their campus-wide Trunk or Treat event.
We were so humbled and grateful to use funds donated to our chapter by our generous volunteers and Chicktime San Antonio supporters for this special project. Because of your generosity, we were able to say yes when Boysville asked if we could provide the food for their festive evening.
We went all-in on the Halloween theme!
• Severed “ Finger” hotdogs ( Zoom in to see the fingernail ) with a little “bloody” ketchup
• A pumpkin-shaped fruit platter
• A veggie tray featuring a carved jack-o’-lantern with orange dip “spilling” out
• Black and orange chips with spooky green guacamole
• Delicious desserts including “dirt cups” (chocolate pudding, crushed Oreos, and gummy worms) and pumpkin patch candies
• Witch hat cookies and Halloween sprinkle sugar cookies
• and there was also a funnel cake station and nacho bar for extra treats,
Halloween music and lots of lots and lots of good hang out time!
The kids and staff alike were so appreciative of our participation—and judging by how quickly the food disappeared, we think it’s safe to say everyone enjoyed it!
It’s always an honor to serve at Boysville Children’s Home , and we can’t wait to be back for our regular Chicktime Saturday on November 15th, where we’ll be teaching the girls a little about gratitude and decorating gratitude journals! Tis the season of thanksgiving!
We hope you can join us!
