Food, Fun and Fellowship

February Update:

Chicktime San Antonio’s February workshop was absolutely scrumptious in every way!

Our longtime Chicktime volunteer, Kelly, has been leading our February workshop for more years than we can count — we’re pretty sure it’s been way over 10! Her passion is cooking, so naturally our theme was “Cooking with Kelly-

And she did not disappoint.

Kelly threw the most incredible pizza party for the girls at Boysville Children’s Home. They didn’t just top pizzas — they made them from scratch! From watching the yeast rise, to rolling out dough into (mostly ) perfect circles, to layering homemade sauce, Italian sausage, hamburger, red onion, bell pepper, pepperoni, and lots of cheese — it was hands-on, flour-covered, joy-filled fun.

But what made the day truly beautiful wasn’t just the pizza.

It was the conversations.

The kitchen talk while making pizzas we shared favorite foods, sweet stories and around the table while eating our pizza we had tender, honest moments.

There is something sacred about breaking bread together — especially when you made it with your own hands. You can see it in the girls’ faces… how intentional time, laughter, and consistency speak louder than we realize.

And before we even took a bite, it was the girls who reminded us that we needed to pray. So instead of closing in prayer, we paused right there — blessing the food, praying over the girls, the volunteers, and Boysville. We are so grateful for our sweet volunteer , Geneva, who loves to lead us boldly in prayer.

In a world that feels loud and chaotic, we can tell you this: for a few sacred hours once a month, we feel His goodness. We see His faithfulness. We know that showing up matters.

We hope you’ll join us one month soon. There is a seat at the table waiting for you.

“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him.” — Psalm 34:8
