June Highlights
Thank you so much to everyone who came out to our June Event to celebrate Flag Day! Everyone had a grand ol’ time making thumbprint flags and goofy glasses! The night concluded with an epic stamp and sticker war! We all ended up with blue and red fingerprints and star stickers all over us! The children also sang an amazing goodbye song to one of our leaders as she will be leaving us. Many friendships and memories were made. Thank you Salvation Army Clarksville for continuing in a truly meaningful partnership with Chicktime Clarksville.
May Highlights
All The ladies had a wonderful time at the May event! We had some issues in the beginning when we found out our leader was missing so several members came together to lead! I was thrilled to see Aubre come up with a great on the spot idea to create Mother’s Day cards to celebrate with their mom’s! It was great to see the sweet messages and all the care they took in creating them. To end the evening, one of our younger members led the kids in games which was the highlight of the night for the kids! It was another wonderful night for our volunteers and children! Also on May 19th, chapter found Ainsley Watkins got to meet the chapter leaders of Ghana, Africa! The leaders of the Ghana chapters explained that their chapters focus on empowering women in their communities by teaching job training, manners, public speaking, sex education, and other related skill sets and lessons! The chapters present at schools, churches, and community centers with the goal of promoting the moral integrity of women all over Ghana. Ainsley reports that the experience was surreal and that it was such an honor to be able to meet like-minded chicks with the same goals and passions on the opposite side of the world.
Come out and join us in May! We will all be hanging out with the wonderful kids of Salvation Army putting together some amazing collages! Don’t miss a fulfilling night out with us chicks. 🙂

Febuary Highlights
Our February Event making Valentines was a hit! We had about a 1:1 ratio of volunteers to kids, with 17 volunteers and 15 kids. We were able to give the kids a lot of one-on-one attention, which was enjoyable for all of us! Volunteer Aubre Rios led the workshop, bringing a variety of supplies including cardboard, stickers, glitter glue, baggies, and most importantly, candy for their bags! The kids and volunteers alike enjoyed making Valentines for each other and for their families and friends. We concluded our hour together by dancing the Cupid Shuffle, led by volunteer Melenie Espinoza. A special thank you to the Occupational Therapy Assistant students at Brown Mackie College for coming out and volunteering with our kids! We look forward to partnering with them over the next year. Here are some photos from the event!

Angel Tree (December)
In December 2013, we successfully sponsored SIX kids in need from the Salvation Army Angel Tree! Volunteers pooled their time and resources to provide Christmas presents –toys and clothing– for six boys and girls ages 2-9. Rafferty’s Restaurant kindly welcomed us into their space to wrap gifts, whilst enjoying some of their appetizers. Thank you so much to everyone who helped make this a success! It looks like it may become a Chicktime Clarksville tradition!
