Spooky!

We were fired up this past Saturday at The Bridge! 🔥 

Ms. Krystal and Ms. Samantha brought over some donuts and juice for the kids while we waited for our surprise guests! We talked to the kids for a bit and began to bring out games. They were slightly bummed that we had only one new game that we hadn’t played before but they were good sports and continued on. One of my favorite things about Chicktime is just conversations we get to have with the kids. We had a chatty group, and we talked about our favorite moments of the week and learned a bit about each other. 

Not soon after, our heroes came to the rescue! SAFD so kindly came out with engine 19 and the kids were stoked to say the least! The were a bit shy at first as the let the firefighters begin their demo and answered questions about fire safety. 

We then got into the fun stuff! Checking out the truck and all the tools they have on it. The kids got to see the ladders, oxygen tanks, controls, tried on helmets and got to ring the siren! 🚒 The fire fighters and kids took no time in talking and answering questions. I think I heard few times“I want to be a fire fighter!!”. It was truly a sweet moment to witness. 

Lastly, the firefighters opened up the deck gun on top of the fire truck and let our kids run in the water. That thing was powerful! 

We all really enjoyed our time with the kids and we are incredibly thankful to SAFD station 19 for taking the time to come show us the truck and keep us informed.
