About Our Chapter

It seems silly now, but when I began college last year I was intent on finding my life’s purpose. I went through major after major in my head, wondering what would lead to a secure job, and a fulfilling life. While in this state of anxiety and confusion about my future, I found there were certain passions that remained in my heart. The greatest of these was a passion for helping people, especially children and their families. I knew that no matter what direction my life took at my core would stay a desire to nourish, learn, create, and provide. When I came across Chicktime, I knew that joining would be a great way for me to channel these passions alongside so many wonderful women.

Being in Saratoga Springs, where I attend Skidmore college, is almost like being in two places at once. The town itself appears incredibly wealthy, with towering mansions, expensive stores, and luxury hotels lining the streets. However, Saratoga Springs, and greater Saratoga County, has many in its communities who are struggling. When one steps off campus, it becomes clear that not everyone in this town is living glamorously. The horror of child abuse can impact anyone regardless of race, ethnicity, culture, religion, education, or socioeconomic background. There are children in every county, every city, and every town who are in need of love and guidance, and Saratoga is no exception. The children of these communities deserve a place to feel safe, loved, and welcome, and I hope by establishing a chapter in Saratoga Springs we can provide just that.

One of the most important parts of establishing our chapter is recruiting passionate, female volunteers who embody the Chicktime spirit! If you have a love for children, wish to serve your community, or have just been looking for a place to bring your kind energy, the Chicktime family is here waiting for you! We hope you will join us on this journey of love and generosity.
