New Year/New Me

December Update:

What a delightful Christmas luncheon we had at RMYA the bridge this past Saturday!
Our Christmas tradition continues as we brought the kiddos at the bridge a lunch for us to share together. The kids were slightly hesitant as we came in to set up and get them served. We knew that some had recently arrived that same week so we would need to be patient as they navigate the changes. We had a few that weren’t initially wanting to participate or talk much so we just introduced ourselves and jumped into it.

Slowly but surely the kids got their meals and sat down, Ms.Sandra, Ms.Jamie and Ms.Krystal sat with them to chit chat and get them to open up a bit. We listened to Christmas music while we finished our meals. And as usual, it didn’t take long before they were all holding conversations and starting to get curious about the gifts we brought!
We made Christmas totes with a couple of special gifts inside, a stocking with some personal items/toys and a candy bag! As the kids opened up their gifts, you could feel the shift in the room. To say they were excited is an understatement! With our donations we were able to purchase MP3s for every child and animal themed neck massagers. We can’t begin to express how much they appreciated the gifts. To hear all the “thank yous” and “this is exactly what I wanted” from the kids is what makes it all worth it. It was truly heart warming. This is a Christmas that will definitely be engraved in our hearts.
We cannot thank our donors enough for all the contributions. They really showed out this year and we could not be more grateful. Thank you to our volunteers through out the year who keep us going as well. We couldn’t do it without everyone’s support. We are blessed to have been able to serve another year with RMYA. We pray for many more!
We hope to see you all at our 2025 workshops!
