Meet the Leaders
It’s been on my heart to give back and channel my energy and time through service. I’ve served in various organizations over the course of my life and have felt fulfilled but not in the gripping way I always searched for. Within the past two years my life has adjusted course and has been opened up to opportunities I know the Lord has been leading me to all along including the opportunity to lead Chicktime Mission. In reflecting on my own relatable life journey, I realized through various signs I am right where I am supposed to be. My passions and gifts:
I’m passionate about helping others and raising my beautiful children to be God fearing positive contributors to our society. I love Jesus Christ, our Savior and give all Glory to Him. I have a gift for organizing all things and leading groups. One of my deepest passions is for learning and I can usually always be found engaged in some sort of self-development. My Type A personality is coupled with a passion for competition and winning. The joy of being a part of a team and pushing each other to be our best selves is important to me and something I’ve found to be an addicting passion as well.
I’m happiest and most at peace when I am with my family including my husband, two children and my siblings. This usually looks like spending time together outdoors whether it be on the water, in a boat, in a hunting blind or spending time on the patio BBQing with friends. Traveling and taking adventurous trips with family and friends is important to me and we make an attempt to always have a trip booked as something to look forward to. I enjoy being active and grew up playing sports from grade school to college including softball, volleyball, track, cheerleading and water skiing. As an adult, I found a love for Crossfit four years ago following the birth of my first child. Growing up we always had sports playing on the television, either Football or Baseball which lead to college football season being one of my favorite times of the year – cheering on the Texas A&M Aggies.
Why I serve a leadership role with Chicktime:
I was excited to join Chicktime when I heard about the opportunity to serve my hometown of Mission,Tx. Throughout highschool and my time at Texas A&M University I have always loved to find ways to support the people of the community.
Whether it’s volunteering at the local library, helping build a community garden or volunteering my time at organizations like the Brazos Interfaith Immigration Network- I find joy in connecting with all individuals hearing their stories and being of service in any way I can.
I am excited to continue my love for volunteering and giving back now as a part of the leadership team with Chicktime! I am so excited for what’s to come.
My passions and gifts:
I am a multi-passionate person, I find myself trying out new things ALL the time. I am passionate about helping others,I frequently find myself helping my friends and family pursue their passions and go after what makes them happy.
I love to create- I love to create something out of nothing or give a second life to something that already exists.
Hobbies and Interests:
I love to read self-development books, try new vegan and vegetarian recipes, practice yoga, and refine my makeup skills- I have loved makeup artistry for a very long time and even started the Makeup Club in highschool!
On a perfect day you can find me surrounded by nature with my friends and family, along with a healthy snack, a journal and a pen.
Why I serve a leadership role with Chicktime:
Growing up, my mom instilled in me to always give when you can. I’ve been extremely blessed over these last few years, and there’s no better gratitude I can express from these blessings than to give back to those in need. Every human is going through their own life journey no matter the age, and if I can make the smallest difference in bringing positive light into someone’s life in any form, is when I find my truest fulfillment.
My Gifts and Passions:
I’m very passionate about trying to be the best version of myself in every aspect. Like Gandhi said: “You must be the change you want to see in the world.” I’m always intrigued in how I can do better for myself, my family, and our community. I believe my best gifts are truly my hard work ethic, understanding nature, and fun outlook of life.
Hobbies and Interests:
My biggest interest in life is to see this world! Traveling brings me a different type of joy, and I’m a firm believer that any new destination visited (big or small) is a chance to gain self-development and provides a different perspective to a current view of life. My hobbies include shooting photography for fun and checking out live music any chance I get!
