About Our Chapter

Welcome to Chicktime McAllen! My name is Emma and I’m honored to be the new Managing Leader for our growing chapter in the Rio Grande Valley! Volunteering is a new passion that came later in life for me, but has been so rewarding and impactful since joining Chicktime in 2022. Since then, being a part of this organization that strives to uplift and support girls in neglect and abuse is a mission I feel deeply passionate about. I’m naturally a person who loves bringing positivity, humor and sparkle to everyday life, and getting the opportunity to lead our chapter with that mindset is a humbling and rewarding blessing.

We would love for you to join us every third Thursday of the month at New Hope Children’s Home! Each month we gather to inspire, bring laughter, share love and support one another. Seeing the smiles and glow from each child during our meet, makes the experience so fulfilling and rewarding. There is truly no better feeling than giving from your heart, even if it’s just giving an hour of your time.

Our volunteers are what keeps our chapter going and that is why we need you too! If you’re interested in becoming a member or receiving event invitations, select the “Join a Chapter”

With Love,
Emma Perez

Our History:

Misty Martin opened Chicktime McAllen in 2019 and served as the Managing Leader with love and compassion! Misty believes we were put on this earth to serve a bigger purpose and Chicktime workshops always seemed to be living out that purpose for her. Misty remains a volunteer at Chicktime McAllen, but is in a season where she needed to hand off the managing leader responsibilities.

Lupita Zamora served as Managing Leader for Chicktime Mission/McAllen 2016-2019 and has been a dedicated volunteer with Chicktime since the chapter was founded in 2009 by Natalie Basham (2009-1011). Lupita continued to serve under Echo Richardson (2012-2014)when she stepped into leadership and also under Carol Wiens (2014-2016). It is Lupita’s heartfelt belief that sharing a small amount of kindness cost nothing, but makes a great difference to someone who has nothing. Lupita believe’s we should all reflect on how important it is to recognize the value in all people. Lupita continues to volunteer and serve on the Chicktime Mission leadership team.
