About Our Chapter

My name is Viridiana Bravo, and I am honored to serve as the new managing leader for the Chicktime McAllen chapter. I’ve been part of Chicktime for nearly four years, previously serving as a volunteer coordinator. Volunteering has always been an essential part of my life, whether at local libraries or other community organizations. I find great joy in helping build connections and fostering a sense of community among like-minded people.

Chicktime’s mission resonates deeply with me, especially its focus on empowering women and children. The need in our community is clear, and Chicktime provides a platform where we can make a direct, positive impact. Contributing my time to this organization is incredibly fulfilling. There’s nothing more heartwarming than seeing the smiles of children we serve, knowing that our efforts are making a difference in their lives.

What makes Chicktime special is how it blends creativity, joy, and gratitude into every event. It allows us to engage with the community in fun, meaningful ways, creating lasting memories for those we serve. Serving with Chicktime has been one of the most rewarding experiences, and I’m proud to continue this journey, helping others and being a part of something that truly enriches lives.

Our History:

Emma Perez served as the managing leader for Chicktime McAllen throughout 2024. She previousyl served the McAllen chapter as a dedicated chapter co-leader and cherished volunteer. Volunteering is a passion Emma embraces with her whole heart and we are so grateful she shared her love of serving with us! Emma has shared many times that her favorite part of  being a part of  Chicktime was the mission to uplift and support girls living in a situation of neglect and abuse because it’s a mission she feels deeply passionate about. Emma’s positivity, humor and sparkle was a blessing to the girls she served through Chicktime. We wish her well as she moves into a new season and it warms our hearts to know she plans to come back and join us as a volunteer when she can!

Misty Martin opened Chicktime McAllen in 2019 and served as the Managing Leader through 2023 with love and compassion! Misty strategically built a strong and sustainable team dedicated to serving the children of the Rio Grande Valley. Misty believes we were put on this earth to serve a bigger purpose and Chicktime workshops always seemed to be living that out. Misty remains a volunteer at Chicktime McAllen and one day plans to bring her daughter Millie when she is old enough to volunteer.
