May Highlights
Hello Chicktime gals! I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. We had a great time at the Child Crisis Center Saturday night. We had 4 musicians from the Chicks with Picks foundation come play music for the kids at the Center, ages 4 yrs to 10 yrs. Chicks with Picks is a non-profit that uses female musicians (of all ages)to reach those in need, through their music. They play for the Phoenix Childrens’ Hospital, and also hold fundraisers to help families with medical expenses. We are overwhelmed with gratitude that they chose to partner with us! I wish I could have taken photos of the kids smiling faces, and clapping hands…but, due to confidentiality we just cannot do that. I think the Middler girls sang “Let it Go” from Disney’s “Frozen” about 5 times. They took turns singing in front of the group, and not knowing all the words, but could belt out “Let it go!” when the chorus came – too stinkin’ cute!
Rachel closed out the night with the her original song “Safe Haven” – explaining that your safe haven could be home, it could be a person, …the song was very befitting for the evening. It was just beautiful. We then had a special request for Pharrel’s “Happy” song. Although Rachel didn’t know how to play it – she quickly pulled it up on her iPad and gave it her best shot – making one little boy in particular very happy!
