Why I Serve a leadership role with Chicktime:
I actually became interested in Chicktime after researching various social change projects for post doc requirement and hitting brick walls for three previous ideas. When I found Chicktime through the Volunteer Organization, I immediately went to their website after receiving an invite from Lori Rhodes to check them out. I learned quickly that they are a national organization but was surprised that no chapter existed here in my town, although there were several in nearby areas. I emailed Lori and we scheduled a telephone call and the rest is history. Chicktime met my goals for social change for my post doc but it is much more than just a work project; it is a monthly event that I can proudly participate in as I develop new relationships with volunteers, local agencies, and the girls with whom we serve. I am looking forward to starting this new chapter and in having strong, committed co-leaders who can help me spread news about Chicktime to others who might also be interested in spending some quality time with girls who enjoy the company of others who see their worth and value.
My Passions and Gifts:
I am passionate about people. I have a servant’s heart so I enjoy helping people whenever I can, regardless of who they are, where they come from, or what they need. If I cannot personally help, I am quick to find someone else who can. I guess that is where the “gift of gab” comes in handy because I can generally talk to anyone. I am talkative, friendly, and very loyal to those whom I befriend and to organizations to which I am associated. I am not sure this is a positive sometimes but I am also very hardworking.
Hobbies and Interests:
I have a variety of interests that include genealogy, walking, reading, and when time permits, my husband and I love to go on cruises. I am very family oriented and enjoy spending time with my twin daughters and their two daughters.
