About Our Chapter

Hello, My name is Sheryl O’Keefe and I am the managing leader for Chicktime Kansas City.

I am a mom of 3 adult children and now the grandma of a precious baby boy.  When our kids were growing up, my husband and I were very active with them in Boy and Girl Scouts, which allowed us to share our time and love with children of many backgrounds.  It also taught our children to be inclusive, compassionate, and caring.  Now that our children are grown, I was looking for volunteer opportunities on my employers’ site.  I was drawn to Chicktime as its mission of “encouraging women to develop their passions and use their gifts to make the world a better place for the next generation” touched my heart.

My experience with Chicktime has allowed me to continue to share my time and talents with young girls that need our care and support.  It is truly heartwarming to see the light in their eyes as they engage in craft activities or learn new skills with leaders that want to be there especially for them.

We are all unique and have talents to share.  We would love for you to join us on our journey to add love and joy to the lives of these young girls.   Our volunteers are what keeps our chapter going and that is why we need you too!  If you’re interested in becoming a member or receiving event invitations, select the “Join a Chapter” link and then click MO-Kansas City.

Joyfully,

Sheryl O’Keefe

History:

Margo Russell was the Founder and 1st Managing Leader of Chicktime Kansas City. She started the chapter on the belief that we ALL can all work to provide Strong & Happy foundations. Margo put her heart and soul into establishing this legacy and showed up month after month for many years for the girls who called Ozanum home. She had to step away from Chicktime for family obligations, but not before changing the lives of so many young women in our community.
