CHICKTIME BAXLEY

So many women and children feel unloved and have lost hope that anyone cares for them.

So many women and children dread to see another day because they are sure it will be filled with more disappointment.

So many women and children feel they do not have anyone to talk to or anyone willing to help them.

So many women and children feel helpless in their situation and just wish for someone, anyone, to show that they care.

There are so many women and children in every community that have been abused (physically, sexually, and/or emotionally) or simply neglected all together.

So many women and children endure pain that many of us have never felt, and even worse, many times it is inflicted upon them by the people they trust the most and the people who are supposed to protect them.

And some just have no place to go.

When women and children are brought out of that situation, finally they have some peace. But the sad realization is, the pain whether physical or mental remains. These women and children need to be shown that as a society we do not accept what was done to them and that the worst IS over and it is now a time to heal; it is a time to learn to trust again; time to feel what love is meant to be, time that they can once again look forward to their tomorrow; time they can be shown that there are people who care for THEM.

Women and children who find their refuge in shelters or group homes need the one thing that so many of us have to give, Love. They need to be shown that no matter what has happened to them in their past to have brought them to their current situation that it is going to be okay. They have not been forgotten or as I so badly hate to hear “Lost in the system.” We can make a difference to a woman or child. YOU can make a difference to a woman or child by giving them a little of your time and love.

I hope that by starting a Chicktime chapter in Baxley, Ga. Called Chicktime Baxley, I can bring forward every woman in our community who would like to help others by simply volunteering their time and sharing their love with a woman or child and maybe even inspire other women in other surrounding communities to join Chicktime and open a Chapter in their area and share their love with others as well.

If God brings you to it, he will bring you through it.

Perhaps the women and children helped will think of Chicktime volunteers and will believe in this when they feel lost or unloved and then begin to smile once again.

“My wish for you is that this life becomes all that you want it to; your dreams stay big, your worries stay small, you never have to carry more than you can hold. And while you’re out there getting where you’re getting to, I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too. Yeah, this is my wish.” -Rascall Flatts
