Core Programs
Each year, Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida serves nearly 13,000 youth between the ages of six and eighteen, and
provides them with a safe place to learn and grow.
At each of the 29 Clubs and middle school locations in the local four-county area, core youth development programs
are offered to meet the diverse needs and interests of members. Thanks to these vital programs, Boys & Girls Clubs of
Central Florida continues to ensure that GREAT FUTURES START HERE.
Our Five Core Program Areas:
Character & Leadership Development – Empower youth to become more global citizens who support and
influence their Club and community, sustain meaningful relationships with others, develop a positive self-image and good character and respect
their own and others’ cultural identities.
Education & Career Development – Enable youth to become proficient in basic educational disciplines, set goals,
explore careers, prepare for employment and embrace technology to achieve success in a career.
Health & Life Skills – Develop young people’s capacity to engage in positive behaviors that nurture their own well-being,
set personal goals and live successfully as self-sufficient adults.
The Arts – Encourage youth to develop their creativity and culture awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts and creative writing.
Sports, Fitness & Recreation – Programs develop fitness, positive use of leisure time, skills for stress management, appreciation
for the environment and social skills.
