July Highlights:
This past month of July’s Chicktime activity felt like a hot fun summer day!
Yuleidi, our July monthly leader, graced us all with cupcakes she baked herself, a white canvas and lots and lots of colors. We learned about color mixing, cupcake decoration, and a bit more about each other.
After decorating our own cupcake, we all got together under a nice big tree, and filled the white canvas with words of inspiration and love, along with beautiful symbols and drawings.
The last 30 minutes were spent playing volleyball all together under the hot hot sun!
Thank you to all the volunteers that came out to support and partake in this fun activity who shared and expressed their creativity, assistance and motivation!
A special thanks to Yuleidi Gonzales, for leading and guiding us through this fun free afternoon and for inspiring all of us to embrace our own choices and colors!
This upcoming Saturday, 6th of July is a special day! We will have Yuleidy Gonzales leading us through a Color Theory and Mixing/ Fingerpainting party as we celebrate Chicktime’s Miami Founder, Jennifer Puig’s 30th birthday with the children at Florida Baptist Children’s Homes and all our lovely Chicktime volunteers!.
Yuleidi will be gracing us each of us with a cupcake she will bake with a friend so we can spend 2 hours decorating it while learning about color theory, primary and secondary color mixing. Yuleidi is a talented passionate artists that loves fingerpainting and experimenting with a variety of colors!.
Once we decorate our own cupcakes, we will create a collective “finger-paint canvas card” inspired by love, friendship and celebration, while we listen to music and create!. Please join us as we spend 2 hours of pure joy and art while inspiring children to follow their gifts and passions!

June Highlights:
When speaking to my co-leader Natalie Romero about the activity she would be leading for the kids, I understood that we were all in for a treat, not only creatively, but also fun, challenging and informative! For this activity, all the volunteers teamed up to bring recycled material from their homes, to embark on a journey of self discovery and relationship building through the creation and construction of a “dream car”.
We got into teams of 3 and 4 participants, combining volunteers and FBCH children, and spent 1 hour and a half working on a recycled material car that would race at the end propelled by balloons and straws.
Many of the teams were not able to “figure out the mechanics of a working vehicle”, but sure learned in the process the different aspects of engineering and building.
The winning team received a Chicktime shirt they had been asking for, and a faith inspired book to keep.
Thank you to all the volunteers that came out to support and partake in this fun activity who shared and expressed their creativity, assistance and motivation!
A special thanks to Natalie Romero, for leading and guiding us through this process and believing in us until the end!
Please join us for 2 hours of imagining, creating and building your Dream Car with
the children at Florida Baptist Children’s Homes! Natalie Romero will lead an afternoon of learning about engineering and later on racing in a fun balloon Car Race!
We need your help!…All those recycled materials at home or elsewhere that you can find, please bring them!…WE will be using recycled materials to create our Dream Car… so start dreaming!

May Highlights:
Our second Chicktime Activity with Co-Leader Heather Perez was fun and creative in every way!We had a blast out in the sun warming up while singing and dancing and later on got to create a story to tell onstage!. We had dancers, singers, artists and script writers! It was great to see it come all together. We finished by sitting down in a circle reminding each other to always repeat the following:
“I am the best and I deserve the best!”
We invite you to do the same!
Thank you to all the volunteers that came out to support, dance, sing, create and move with the children who shared and expressed their creativity and imagination!
I look forward to collaborating with all of you to serve and invite more women to lock arms as well and welcome new volunteers to partake in this amazing journey!
You are all beautiful!
Please join us for story – telling through music, movement and art with the children at Florida Baptist Children’s Homes! Heather Perez will assist us in creating, writing a script, and acting it out as we venture into a journey of expression and artistry. Its bound to be a hot day, so there will be plenty of water as we warm up and “get on stage”!

“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.”
