About Our Chapter

You make a living by what you get,

but you make a life by what you give. — Winston Churchill

My name is Jennifer Puig and I am truly excited to have the opportunity to create and lead the new Miami Chapter for CHICKTIME. Being raised up in Dominican Republic, I was exposed at a very early age to the value of serving my neighbors and spreading joy and love to everything and everyone around. I learned to transform my feelings of sadness, emptiness and loneliness, to ones of love and joy through the power of dance and community work. Through the arts and dance I found a way to heal, to get to know myself, and to communicate feelings to others that were otherwise hard to express verbally. Thirteen years ago I moved to Miami, FL to become a professional dancer. In the process, I realized there was something missing: my desire to serve, teach and help others. By studying Dance Movement Therapy, I learned tools to establish healthy happy relationships, to serve and heal through the arts, and to continue making a difference in the life of being that I come in contact with.

My vision with Chicktime Miami is to empower and invite individuals from all areas of Miami to “bridge the gap” and come together to make a difference in the life of children and their caretakers, inspiring them to follow their dreams, to find their own unique voice and to learn the importance of serving and giving back to create a strong, solid, loving and inspiring community.

“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.”
–Ralph Waldo Emerson

Looking forward to listening how we can serve together!

Sincerely,

Jennifer Puig
