Easter Extravaganza!

March Update:

A staff member of Hope House said that Chicktime has been explained to the families we serve as “just a chance to relax and get to know some new people,” and I think after our first workshop tonight that that is a WONDERFUL description of what Chicktime Norton can provide in its baby stages. We had a blast eating candy, chatting, and getting to know each other while working on cross-stitch patterns. It was wonderful to make a connection with kindred spirits and share our stories and spread a little message of hope around!

Alicia earned her title as Workshop Leader this month because she is focused, knows what she’s doing, and she has an excellent instructor’s voice. You can see her below, working diligently on a pattern I am positive will turn out picture perfect. That patch of black fabric with some Xs on it is as far as I could get with mine. ?

Highlight of the night: a little girl colored pictures for us! Meet my “cat WITH a hat, Snuggles.”

We are SO excited to move forward! For next month’s workshop – and all the following workshops – volunteers will meet at the business office at 369 Gateway Plaza #102 Gate City, VA 24251at 5 PM for a little meeting before we get started on the main event from 5:30 PM-7:30 PM. We will stay AT the business office for the duration of the workshops.

If you’re interested in leading a workshop, volunteering one month, or have other questions or suggestions, message us on Facebook or email us at norton@chicktime.com.
