Chicktime July:
Chicktime Columbia was jammed packed with great information! A College Day workshop opened up great discussions on college, options, student loans, deciding on a major, what to wear and what not wear during an interview and just overall interview etiquette! The girls were shown four different interview outfits and had to decide if it was appropritate or not! They seemed to really like this! #ChicktimeIsAlwaysAwesome!
February Update:
This month, we held Fashion Day with the girls of Epworth Children’s Home and we had so fun! We modeled for the girls. They learned about fashion, put on accessories, and put make up on. Then they modeled for us. Lots of fun! We had lots of new volunteers and we can’t thank you all enough for joining us!
January Update:
We had so much fun with our cottage partner for Games and Icebreakers today! Thank you to big Sis Tray, Jamita Harris, and Johnnica for coming out to volunteer!

Hannah House: November 21th from 9:30am-12pm. We will meet at Hannah House at 9:30am. Our activity for the month of November will be Thanksgiving themed. Stay tuned for more information. We look forward to seeing you there.
Hannah House: October 24th from 9:30am-12pm. We will meet at Hannah House at 9:30am. Our Fall activity for the month of October will be pumpkin craving/decorating with the women and children of Hannah House. There are currently 11 women and 13 children in the house. Styrofoam pumpkins, craving kits and paint supplies will be provided. We look forward to seeing you there.
We have a great time pumpkin craving with the children of Hannah House! Thanks Charlotte Fire Department for donating a truck full of cleaning supplies.

We will be assisting Hannah House with painting, mounting bookshelves and cleaning the grassy area out back. Please wear old jeans or sweats pants with your Chicktime T-shirt or a hot pink or black shirt you don’t mind getting dirty. Closed toe shoes are required to avoid injury.
August 2015 News
In the month of August the Chicktime Columbia Leadership team volunteered with Hannah House and assisted with sorting donated school supplies. We had a blast!
In the month of April we are having our regularly scheduled volunteer event with Epworth Children’s Home and Hannah House.
Epworth Children’s Home: April 12th from 2pm-4pm. We will meet at Epworth at 1:45pm. The subject is survival skills. We will play games and they will work in groups. It will be a fun learning experience.
Hannah House: April 26th from 10am-12pm. We will meet at Hannah House at 9:45am. During this event we will either clean up, sort donations, or interact with the Women and Children at Hannah House.

Epworth Children’s Home: March 8th from 2pm-4pm. We will meet at Epworth at 1:45pm. During this event we will do Fashion Fun Day/Self Expression/Bullying Help with girls of Dantzler Cottage!
Hannah House: March 22nd from 10am-12pm. We will meet at Hannah House at 9:45am. During this event we will either clean up, sort donations, or interact with the Women and Children at Hannah House.

Epworth Children’s Home: February 8th from 2pm-4pm. We will meet at Epworth at 1:45pm. During this event we will do fitness exercises with girls of Dantzler Cottage!
Hannah House: February 22nd from 10am-12pm. We will meet at Hannah House at 9:45am. During this event we will assist with the move-in of one of the ladies that is pregnant and expecting next month. There will be another group there as well assisting with any heavy lifting and we will assist with cleaning and organization of the room.

***Our cottage partner at Epworth Children’s Home enjoyed the etiquette lesson and tea party we had for them. The topic for our tea party was careers. We passed on great info. from how to set a table to dinner etiquette, business party info. to career steps and paths to accomplish goals. We had so much fun!!! Ladies join us as we give back, share love, education, and life lessons with our cottage partner. Don’t miss out on an opportunity to lead and event as well! January 28th 6pm-8pm***Cancelled due to inclement weather forecast***. This is a follow up to the volunteer event this past Saturday. I apologize for the last minute notice. Due to circumstances out of our control we were unable to complete our task on Saturday. There is a lady moving out of a room and another lady that is pregnant that is going to move into that room. She would like us to work on getting that room ready for the new lady and her baby.

Chicktime Kick-off: We are having our Chicktime Kick-off in Sandhills September 7th from 12pm-4pm. We are introducing Chicktime to the community. The location will be at Sandhills in the town center. Sandhills is having their Neighborfest and we have been invited to come. So bring your friends and family out so we can have a good time! Bring your lawn chairs and or whatever you like to be comfortable outside with us. This is our first social event so let’s encourage our members to come!!!
Epworth Children’s Home: September 14th from 2pm-4pm. We will meet at Epworth at 1:45pm. This event we will interact with girls from our Cottage Partner!

HYPE: August 2nd 6pm-12am. We are bowling at Royal Z lanes to partner with HYPE Columbia that helps children around the community.
HYPE: August 3rd 2pm-6pm. We partnering with HYPE Columbia for Community Day at Hyatt Park. There will be a school supply drive.
Epworth Children’s Home: August 10th from 2pm-4pm. We will meet at Epworth at 1:45pm. This event is all about educational games, riddles and survival games so bring your thinking caps!
Hannah House: August 24th the time is TBA. We are planning an outing with the children of Hannah House. More information about this event will be available no later than August 17th.

Claudia is being transferred out of the area with her job and we are in desperate need of a new managing leader for Chicktime Columbia. Until someone emerges to lead, unfortunately there will be no more organized activities. We encourage you to continue volunteering on your own with the charities and we also encourage you to consider chapter leadership.
