About Our Chapter
“The purpose of life, after all, is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experiences.” Eleanor Roosevelt
Stephanie Evitts founded Chictime Colorado Springs in January 2013. She holds a deep belief that women want to make a difference in the issue of abuse but often don’t know where to start. She would often hear people say that it is sad and it makes them sick, but they don’t feel like there is anything they can do to help. She didn’t know where to start either. But the questions kept popping up in her mind… How can I make a difference in our community? How can I give hope to children who have only experienced pain and suffering? How can I break the cycle of abuse? That fateful day in January, she sat down at her computer and began searching for any type of volunteer opportunities involving abused/neglected children. This is how she found Chicktime. She made the decision to establish a local chapter in Colorado Springs to bring the opportunity to be a ray of sunshine in an otherwise troublesome world. She was moved by the inspirational stories in the Chicktime book and scrolling through local events on the Chicktime website. Stephanie was the energy and inspiration behind the pursuit to encourage and empower the children in El Pueblo Kids through Chicktime. We love and honor her!
Chicktime is currently looking for a new leader to step forward and re-establish Chicktime Colorado Springs. For more information, contact Lori at info@chicktime.com
