Backpack Drive!!

July Update:

Chicktime Galveston chapter would like to thank all of the volunteers that came to help this month! As some of you know, Chicktime Galveston has undergone a lot of changes in the past few months and we had to put our shelter visits on hold. Our transition has not gone as smoothly as we had hoped but we have kept the faith that our visits would continue. This month, we were finally back at the shelter serving the families! While we are still praying that the shelter can find a more permanent place for the families needing temporary assistance, we are certainly happy that we got to serve them! 

The children at the shelter are such a blessing to be around and were craving Chicktime! In today’s age of selfies and Snapchats, taking pictures of anything and everything is normal but the children we serve are not living a life of what we would call normal. They were so excited just to have a picture taken of their hand as they colored! The families were so very thankful that we were there and the kids were ecstatic to get a hot meal! They asked us over and over again if Chicktime could be every day or every weekend. We served 49 kids and 29 adults this month and we had 15 volunteers in attendance! We saw a lot of hope and faith on the faces in the room at Chicktime this month. Not only from the kids but also the parents! We are blessed and honored to serve at the shelter!
